"I believe that beneath our struggles there is something in us that already knows the next step. My work is about helping people discover that inner knowing with gentleness, curiosity and compassion."

Welcome

Sometimes life leaves us feeling stuck. We may be overwhelmed by anxiety, held back by past experiences, disconnected from ourselves, or simply longing to live with greater ease, creativity and meaning.

My name is Kathleen Kingsley-Hughes and my work is about helping people rediscover their own inner wisdom.

Based on the beautiful coastline of Anglesey, North Wales, I offer psychotherapy, Focusing, Hakomi sessions, mindfulness teaching, wellbeing coaching and workshops that support emotional healing, personal growth and creative flourishing.

Sessions are available both in person and online.

Psychotherapy

I offer integrative psychotherapy, drawing on a range of approaches to meet each person as an individual rather than fitting people into a single model.

My work incorporates:

  • Focusing-Oriented Therapy (FOT)

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Trauma Focused Therapy (TFT)

  • Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy

  • Attachment-Based Therapy

  • Expressive Arts Therapy

Together we create a safe, compassionate space where thoughts, feelings, bodily experience and relationships can all be explored at a pace that feels right for you.

Focusing

Focusing is a gentle yet powerful way of listening to the body’s quiet knowing.

Rather than analysing problems, Focusing helps us turn towards our lived experience with curiosity and kindness. Often our bodies carry a deeper understanding than our thinking minds alone can reach. By learning to pause, listen and stay with our experience, fresh insights and new possibilities naturally emerge.

I offer one-to-one Focusing sessions for personal growth, alongside lessons for people who would like to learn this life-changing practice for themselves.

Hakomi

Hakomi is a gentle, mindfulness-based form of body psychotherapy that helps us become aware of the unconscious beliefs and patterns that shape our lives.

In a Hakomi session we slow down and pay careful attention to what is happening in the present moment, noticing thoughts, emotions, posture, movement and bodily sensations. Rather than trying to change ourselves, we develop compassionate curiosity towards our experience. This often allows long-held patterns to soften naturally, creating space for healing and greater freedom.

Hakomi is sometimes described as “assisted self-study” because the therapist acts as a respectful guide while you discover your own experience from within.

Mindfulness & Self-Compassion

I teach mindfulness and self-compassion practices that help people develop greater emotional resilience, calm and self-acceptance. (Inspired by MBSR and Mindful Self-Compassion)

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
I also offer Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) for:
  • Stress management

  • Insomnia

  • Smoking cessation

  • Phobias

CBH combines evidence-based cognitive behavioural approaches with therapeutic hypnosis to help create lasting change.
